Responsibilities
- Designing, implementing, and managing network security solutions to protect the organization’s networks from cyber threats.
- Monitoring network security systems for signs of unauthorized access or security breaches.
- Investigating security incidents and providing incident response and remediation.
- Conducting security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and risks.
- Developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Collaborating with other IT teams to ensure that security measures are integrated into network infrastructure and systems.
- Providing guidance and support to junior security operations engineers and analysts.
- Keeping up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.
- Participating in on-call rotations and responding to security incidents as needed.
- Contributing to the development of security awareness and training programs for staff.
Skills/Experience
- In-depth knowledge of network security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and secure access technologies.
- Experience with network security best practices and industry standards.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing security devices, such as firewalls, routers, switches, and VPN concentrators.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
- Familiarity with security tools and technologies, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), antivirus software, and endpoint security solutions.
- Experience with network security assessments, audits, and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Knowledge of encryption technologies and standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
